Hi-
I am trying to use the "save as" command to save my Publisher 2002 file as an image file (I've tried jpg, tif, gif and bmp) which will be acceptable to an advertisement firm. Unfortunately, they cannot accept MS Publisher files, so I must save it as an image. I have two problems/questions that may actually be the same underlying problem. The first is that when I save the file as one of the image files above, it heavily distorts/blurs some of the fonts to the point that it is unusable. Curiously, in some places the fonts convert fine whereas in other parts of the document the exact same fonts with all the same characteristics are distorted. The second problem is that I need to be able to use the "save as" command for these images and set the dpi resolution to be at least 300 dpi. Publisher apparently saves these images by default at 150 dpi which is not acceptable. I cannot find anything in publisher that lets me choose the dpi resolution in saving the file. Can anyone help me please? Thanks - Rob

AFAIK, you cannot. Suggest you forget about saving as an image and use PDF
instead. If this is a one-off, Adobe (www.adobe.com/acrobat) offers 5 PDF
conversions for free. Otherwise you can look at PDF X-Change
(www.docu-track.com) , beloved of our own Don Schmidt. This retails at £40,
a fraction of the cost of Acrobat (around £250). PDF will preserve
everything exactly as it is with no loss of clarity or image quality.

Everything is garbage compared to the full Adobe Acrobat if you need
quality.

All these other PDF WannaBe's are just that and never will be a proper PDF
program.

You are far better off loading the Generic Adobe Postscript printer driver
and giving the printer an EPS.

Any printer that asks for a JPG or GIF is a sub-standard amateur no nothing
backyard hick printer.

Find a printer that knows what they are doing, and gives you proper
instructions.

I recommend either using PDF (Adobe Acrobat) or upgrading to Publisher 2003
which has 300 dpi ability added.

Good advice, upgrade to Publisher 2003 - I heartily agree.
