I have bought and installed ms office pro edition 2003 on my pc. I have
three other computers in my household (one laptop). How do I update these
versions of mc office 2000 too ?

If you read your Office 2003 End User License Agreement, you'll see that
it does not allow you to install one copy of Office 2003 Pro on all four
of your computers. Assuming your purchased a retail version of Office
2003 Pro, you are allowed to install it on one desktop and one laptop
owned by you as long as both computers are not used at the same time.

Yes, I paid full retail and I thought that if 'I' was the user I could load
on my other computers and / or laptop. What do you mean by 'you as long as
both computers are not used at the same time' ? I travel with my laptop.

Is there any way around this ? The 'package' was very expensive for software.

Thank you very much. Tiffany

If you install your copy of Office 2003 on one desktop computer and one
laptop computer, you must be the owner of both computers, and the two
installations of Office 2003 cannot be in use at the same time (e.g.,
you cannot use Office 2003 on the laptop while at the same time you or
someone else is using Office 2003 on the desktop).

Do you have to set up a web cams so they can check and make sure they are in
different rooms and only being used by one person or is it on the honor
system?

Sorry your msgs are all from months ago but I have only joined today and now
I'm very confused. Same problem though. Although I have used Office since
1997 I've had to buy Office 03 due to computer death etc. I work at home. I
have loaded Office onto this computer. When I read your msgs I was horrified
because I am so ignorant I had no idea you could load onto one laptop and one
desktop (although not using at the same time????). Is this true? Can someone
enlighten me - I'm going to search for my packaging as I bought Office 03 in
March this year and presume the licence blurb is in the box. Is this really
true? My need to join forum today is because I want to buy another computer
at home so that I have two and I don't understand if you really have to buy a
second office 03 - that's something like another £300 to £400 in the UK.
Faint! BUT my horror is because here I am on my laptop but my teenager
downstairs has a desktop which obviously we've never put Office on as I
didn't think you were allowed to use it on more than one machine. Have I had
the opportunity all these months to use Office on a second computer and was
too thick to know? Can someone out there make this simple? I'm really not
thick - I run my own business - but the blurb I've read on Microsoft's site
is not clear and I don't understand, hence reading msgs from all you normal
folk out there in the world. Help please, however patronisingly simple -
please!
