Is it possible to suppress the dotted underline indicating hidden text?
I am using hidden text in templates to hold user instructions. The dots
make it difficult to read.

Maybe a white underline? You could define an "instruction" style (paragraph
style or character style) that combines the two kinds of formatting.
And maybe add something else like dark blue color, or a characteristic font.

Not as far as I know.

You might try a macro that toggles the instruction style between hidden and
not hidden.

Thanks, I changed the underline color to match the background color and that
