Hiding a few files

From what I've read about hiding files, it appears that
all window files will be hid. I do not need, require, or
want every word prossesing file hid. How to I go about
hiding selected folders?

This is an operating system issue. The best means can be addressed if you
post to the relevant Windows (or Mac) newsgroup.
