Hiding some of the linking task arrows

Does anyone know of a way you can keep some linking task arrows and hide
others? I still want to keep all links in place, but not display them all (so
that the page doesn't become cluttered with unnecessary arrows)

Not clear on how you decide which ones are "necessary" and which ones
aren't. On the projects I do, if a link's not necessary, I delete it.
In any case, there's no way to show some and hide others.
