Hiding the Resource Costs in Project Pro

Does anyone know if you can and how to restrict who can see resources costs. Obviously the PM would still need to see the actual costs per task but in our environment rates need to be kept confidential.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If a PM can see the cost of the task, it's easy enough to convert that to a
resource rate by dividing the cost by the number of hours worked. So, it's
not possible to hide rates from PMs in the system. You can hide this
information from everyone else.

Hi Gary thank you for a prompt reply

Can you confirm that there is no way of keeping 'rates' confidential within Project Pro/PWA

The Std. Rate, Ovt. Rate, and Cost/Use rates cannot be kept confidential
from project managers who use Microsoft Project Professional, nor can the
alternate rates found on Cost Rate Tables B-E. Even if these columns are
hidden from all enterprise resource views, the project manager can easily
insert these columns in any resource view. So, there is no default method
of keeping rates confidential from project managers if they use Microsoft
Project Professional. Hope this clarification helps.
