how adjust spacing between numbered list items?

Hi,

I'm using Word XP under W2K. I have defined a style
(called Procedure Steps) for a numbered list in a large
doc. Everything is working fine with one exeption. I
want 6pt before and after each step. I used a Style Type
of "List", but that gives no control over spacing between
steps.

I read Shauna Kelly's article on how to creat numbered
heading and outline numbering and tried to adapt that to
the numbered list, but I think I'm missing something in
the "style type" and "style based on" fields.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

If you set up numbering as described in
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html it is quite
stable, and you don't have to go near a list style.
