re-arrangement of slide order?

How can I disable 'Insert Slides from Files' but still enable
re-arrangement of slide order?

PowerPoint does not have individual command permissions. If you password
protect the presentation for editing, all editing functions will be locked
out.

Is there some special reason that you want to disable this one function?
The reason I ask, is that it is possible to remove the 'insert slides from
file' command button from the pulldown menus, but it is difficult to push
out to multiple users, and can be undone by a simple 'reset' of the
toolbars.

Pauline,
It's possible to disable any item from the UI provided you apply a group
policy.
