How can I disable MS Document Imaging?

P

Patsyjean

I have Microsoft Office XL. Just recently I have become unable to open most
of my email attachments and I get a message that this is not a Microsoft
Imaging File. I don't know why this is happening and it is very annoying.
Can I disable this feature or delete it? I have no idea why it suddenly
started happening. Thank you very much. P. Mason

Seems like you may have your file associations scrambled
ie you set Imaging to open certain files

I would go to the Programs area of Control Panel, open the Office XP "Add or
Remove Features" area and change the feature state of "Microsoft Office
Document Imaging" under the Office Tools tree to Not Available. That should
restore file associations as well.
