how can I download an english dictionary for word?

My word program doesn't have any english dictionary. Are there any free
downloads for one? I have office basic edition 2003. Thank you.

Word languages depend on the region in which the product was purchased - not
all the available languages will have been installed by default. You may
have to re-run setup from Windows Control pane add or remove programs If
your version does not have English as a core language (and I believe all
versions do include English

according to MSFT, all versions of Office come with English proofing:

I think the OP wants an actual dictionary, not just proofing tools.
