How can I get NORMAL LAYOUT as my default setting in WORD?

Whenever I would open a new WORD document, it would automatically have a
NORMAL layout. Now, for reasons unknown, I get a PRINT layout which I cannot
for the life of me figure out how to disengage. How and what do I reset so
that NORMAL layout is my default layout for all my WORD documents?
