How can I get the presentation to go to slide show view when opene

Leslie

I'm trying to insert my presentation into an email and I want it to
automatically go into slide show when opened. Though I would like to give the
reader access to pause during the slide show, I would also like to restrict
anyone from changing anything. How do I go about doing that?

thanks for your help

Save your presentation as a .pps (PowerPoint Show) file. Or you can just rename
it to whatever.pps.

What Michael said, but...

That does not offer all the protection you might want. Others will still be
able to make changes to your presenation, just not quite as easily as
before.

When I try to open the saved ".pps." file, I'm getting an error message:

"Windows cannot find powerpnt.exe."

Try opening PowerPoint first, then use the file open and navigate to your pps
file.

I'm sorry, I didn't clarify what I was needing.

I saved the presentation as the .pps file. When trying to open the .pps
file, so that it will automatically view as a slide show, I received the
error message. I can eventually open it again by searching for it or using
the 'open with' function, but I'm trying to allow others to open it as slide
show w/ ease.

hope that's not too confusing...
thanks

"Others" will have to have either the full version of PowerPoint or the free
PowerPoint viewer installed on their system before they can view your
presentation. If the file associations are correctly set up on their computers,
the .pps file will open correctly when either double clicked or from the file
open menu.

What Michael said and ...

It sounds like you might need to fix your file associations. This article
from the PPT FAQ might help:
