How can I install office shortcut bar from an old version

G

Gail

I now have Office 2003 and I really need this tool. Can someone please give
me detailed instructions on how to install it? I can't find it in my Office
2000 Professional disk. I have looked in Office Tools in the customer install
but it is not listed.

This is not an answer, but your install of O2003, should have created a
shortcut in your start menu to 'New Office Document' this has a similar
function to the old tool bar

Gail,

Please refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822573/ for assistance on
this issue. The article describes some options available to you, including
use of the quick launch bar instead of the office shortcut bar.

If you prefer to use the Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar, the article mentions
that Office 2003 can coexist with earlier versions of office.

Therefore, all you need to do is locate your Office 2000 installation CD and
run the setup program. Customize the installation, and when you select
specific items to install, don't install anything except the shortcut bar,
which can be found under office tools. Choose "not available" for all
Office 2000 items except the Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar.

I hope this helps!

Sorry I missed one thing you said. The shortcut bar should definitely be
found under Office Tools during the Office 2000 installation. It is listed
alphabetically when you expand Office Tools as "Microsoft Office Shortcut
Bar", just before "Microsoft Photo Editor".
