How can I produce a watercolor effect for a photo?

I want to print out photographs and make cards/invitations by importing
photos. I'd like to get a watercolor effect but am not sure how do achieve
it. I have watercolor inkjet paper, but the paper manufacturer recommends
using the watercolor filter and I'm not sure how to do it.

You would need a program like Photoshop - and maybe even a Photoshop
plugin - to do that with your photos before inserting them into your
document.

You need a graphics program, like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to create
graphics like that.

MS Digital Image Suite includes 208
filters...including Water Color...

You could experiment with the 60 Day
trial version. Just open an image in the
program and go to...Effects / Filters /
Water Color. Or go to...'All Filters' and
try them all...one at a time. There's one
called "Watercolor Damp" that may be
worth a try.

You also have Advanced Options that
allow for using different brushes and
several adjustable sliders.
