and published it. The instructions in FrontPage 2000 and
on the Microsoft aren't helpful. When I have the web open
in FrontPage and go to Tools the Secruity link is grayed
out. why???????? Please help! Rich

See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=301554
Your host will have to support subwebs and unique permissions under the FP Server Extensions

MS have a fix it solution but it didnt work for me either.
But this was a while ago. I now run my own web servers and
it is easy to access protect a web, folder or a htm. doc.
You would be better off getting access to the server where
you html files are at and protecting that way. Do you run
it on your own server? Or an ISP's server? Is it windows
or linux. I run on windows. For me to password protect my
website or page I go to IIS (internet information service)
right click on my website name > properties>and then the
tab marked "Directory Security". In Anonymous access:
uncheck the box. Done. But when you access your now
protected website it will (of course) ask you for a
username and password. The only people that can access to
that web are those who are granted access to the server
and to your web folder. This is in the area of PERMISSION
which another subject. Let me know if you get all this. ok>
