How can I sort my files by date within my folders?

I have many sub folders within a main folder. The documents contained in the
sub folders are dated and I would like to be able to sort them by date.

First make sure you're Views button (far right side of the toolbar when
viewing a folder through Windows Explorer or 2nd-last button on the right in
an Office application File-->Open dialog box) and choose Details as the
view. Then click the column heading called "date modified". You may need to
click the heading more than once.

In Windows Explorer, click on the Date Modified heading. That will
sort the files in date ascending or descending. Click a second time to
reverse the sort order. Any of the headings can be clicked on to sort
by that column.
