How can I view the pictures in PowerPoint? They show up white.

I have a copy of a presentation that someone else created, but when I open it
all I can see are the text boxes. The photos are totally white, but they are
still there. (I can copy and paste into another graphics program and they
show normally.)

If I insert another photo it also displays in white. If I copy and paste
that slide into a new presentation it will display correctly as a thumbnail
but not display correctly in normal view.

Is there a setting that I am missing? I am using version 2003 (SP2) Student
and Teachers Edition.

This may be a long shot but if you have some shadow/3D effects turned on with
photos you will get this effect.

In the draw toolbar check shadow effects are set to no shadow and No 3D

Well, the text did have some kind of shadow, but I'm not sure how it was
created. I looked at the 3D and the SHADOW tools in the DRAW tool bar and
saw nothing at all. I clicked on the SHADOW icon in the formatting tool bar
and the shadow got stronger and then did go away (when I clicked it again)
telling me that the shadow must have come from some other place.

I still cannot see the photos even though I tried changing several slides.
Is there another way of setting a shadow effect that may be still turned on?

Thanks for taking the time to write though. I think you are on the right
track.

If you suspect it could be a shadow effect click shadow settings in the DRAW
ShADOW menu to give you a toolbar the first icon of which is an ON / OFF
switch (remember to select the picture first)
