How do I account for conditional tasks in Project?

I am a new user of MS Project. I have a project that contains a task that
involves testing test-piles. If the results of the test are not favorable, a
delay will be incurred (redesign foundation fabricate more piles). How do I
account for this "if--then" statement in MS Project?

You really can't. Go with the most likely scenario or do two plans, a best
case and a worse case.

hi,

You can create a task titled "Test Report" and make "redesign foundation
fabricate more piles" dependent on the "Test Report". The later tasks follows
and is executed only if the Test Report requires it to be executed. Otherwise
you can mark the schedule of the task as zero days or zero work hours (to
represent it was not executed) and continue with the next task which you will
make dependent on "redesign foundation fabricate more piles".

Depending upon the scope and complexity of the project you may want to build
a more elaborate regression testing plan.

Risk+ from CS Solutions does allows for Conditionals but you are
looking at about $700. But it is a GREAT tool. :)
