How do I activate a borrowed copy of office for teachers and stud.

My computer crashed and I lost Windows and most of my software. My neighbor
loaned me copy of Office for teachers and students that I downloaded but
can't activate. Every time I attempt it tells me that it has already been
registered on another computer. Is there any way around this? Any help is
appreciated.

After my divorce, I tried to use my neighbor's wife as a tax deduction. The
IRS disallowed my use of his wife as a dependent.
Is there any way around this?

Downloaded, eh? Then you are a thief and we don't assist thieves here. We
only help those who have purchased their software legitimately.

I think from reading the post he may have used "downloaded" when he
meant "installed". He's trying to activate a copy he borrowed from his
neighbor so it seems they are both in violation of the EULA.

Why in the world do people say "downloaded" when they mean "installed"?

That seems to be a fairly common misuse of words on this newsgroup...

Then he should say what he means. I'm not going sit here and try to decipher
what people actually mean. If they can't use the correct terminology, that's
really not my problem.

If money is an issue, get a copy of Open Office. It's free.

Thank you very much sf and David. I appreciate the advice. As for Miss
Tick, why answer when you have no solution. I'm sorry if my ignorance with
computers offends you. Sounds like one of the angry people that are out
there infecting computers just for the &^&% of it anyway. I would say
don't bother with a reply but I know that you won't be able to resist. Your
name suits you.

No, there isn't. I take it you've got Windows up and running; or you would
have no use for Office. Why not re-install your own copy of Office from the
CDs?

It's called "ignorance."

There's a lot of that going around. Fortunately, it's curable.

Thanks Jim. But because I purchased a refurbished computer form Dell, I
didn't receive any software.

Office has to be purchased. It is not part of the Windows operating
system. If you bought a license for Office with the PC, contact Dell for
resolution of this issue about no CD's or reinstallation capability.
