how do I change a bitmap to a .gif or a .jpg format?

I'm trying to upload a picture on myspace and I know it's small enough so I
think the format is the problem...anybody knows how to change it on office?

Insert the BMP into a Word or PPT file, then choose File/Save as Webpage.
Make sure you're saving as HTML in the "as type" drop down and not saving as
MHT/MHTML (single-page webfile). You should get an HTML file and a folder
full of supporting files. The BMP should have been changed to a GIF or JPG
and should be in that supporting files folder.
