How do i change the character repeat settings

I accidentally switched a setting regarding my character repeat function. Now
I cannot type the same character without having to wait a second. My control
panel setting for the keyboard doesn't effect this function and I cannot find
where to put the setting back. I want to be able to press any character and
have it repeat for as long as I am pressing the key. Can someone please help?
