how do I create more viewable lines in Task name field of project

I have a project that has long names for the task names and some of the
starting charters are then same. How do I create two or more line for the
Task Name so I can see more information.

sohappy55,
??? What do you mean, "...starting charters are the same."? What exactly
is a "charter"?

First I suggest you re-evaluate the long task names. Task names should
briefly describe what is being done using an action verb (e.g. Design
demodulator circuit, Paint living room walls, Pour foundation, etc.).
Detail explanations are better left to either the Notes field or a spare
Text field.

The Task Name field can display up to 256 characters - more than enough
for an adequate action verb description. If the full text cannot be seen
there are two ways to make it visible. First, increase the Task Name
column width. Second, increase the row height. As long as you are using
Project 2000 or later, row height can be adjusted for each individual
row. This can be done by either dragging the row separators or by going
to View/Table/More Tables and hitting "Edit" for the view table of
interest. In the lower right corner of the Table Definition window is
the Row Height adjustment.

Hope this helps.

Between Charters and Characters the difference is minute..

Jan,
On the surface that is what might be assumed. However, the poster may
have been using the word "charter" in it's true context, namely a
predefined activity. And perhaps the intent was to have that predefined
activity repeated more than once in the plan. Not a recommended way of
defining tasks in a project plan, but many people do use repeat task
names.

Nothing is quite what it seems.
