How do I delete old, old, old calendar events??

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping that I'm just missing something obvious.... I want to delete all my old calendar events from, say, 1 year ago and farther back. How do I do that?

I tried the preferences setting about "delete non-recurring events older than <1 year>" but that didn't seem to do anything. And I can't seem to find a way to search or filter or select events in a way that would help.

The only way I could find is to simply select one event at a time and hit the <delete> key. But that just seems insanely time-consuming. There has to be an easier way, right?

Any advice is appreciated!

Create a custom view (File>New>Custom View). Choose "calendar items" as the
search criterion, and specify that you want to see items older than one
year. I don't remember if Entourage 2004 allows the use of years, or if you
need to enter "365 days" instead. Save the custom view, open it, then select
all the items found by the view (Edit>Select All, or Cmd+A) and delete them.
You can delete the custom view afterwards if you want to.

Ah! thanks for the info! That did the trick. I also received an email from a friend with very similar steps...

1. In Entourage, click on the Calendar button
2. Click on the arrow next to "Calendar Views"
3. Click on "All Events"
4. In the "All Events" window on the right, click on the "Date" header to sort the events by date
5. Shift-click on the events you want to delete
6. Click the "Delete" button in the top menu bar.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, that method works, too. The advantage of the
method I gave you is that you can easily and quickly get back to the custom
view to delete messages that are over one year old.
