How do I edit a scanned document?

I would like to fill in the blanks of a scanned document; can you tell me if
this is possible and if so, how and where to do it. Thank you

Use special software that comes with your scanner. Word is not really
designed for this. While you can do it, for filling in a single form, it is
_way_ too complicated to even attempt.
