How do I extract the HTML code for my flyer so that I may post it?

M

missnatalie

Iam new to publisher and would like to use it for postings on craigslist
ect... Is this possible? How do I extract the code?

Thanks!

i seriously doubt that publisher's code would work on craig's list.

do you have any suggestions for alternatives using this program or anything
from microsoft office?

I agree with Rob, that this isn't likely to work.

However, to answer your question just do a web page preview of your flyer,
then in IE got to View > Source and a NotePad text file will open that
contains your html code.

If you know some html, you'd probably have better luck using Word to
generate your html then clean it up and try it on CL.
Besides as far as I remember, use of html on craig's list is very limited.

It bites because Publisher is a desktop publishing program to be used for
printed documentation and Microsoft has applications that are designed for
creating websites. Yes, Publisher can be used to create websites as can Word
and several other Office programs. You can use a butter knife as a
screwdriver but that doesn't mean you won't strip the head while doing so.
Use the right tool for the job. ;-)

Thanks~ I did figure out how to get the code but it doesn't work in
Craislist. Craigslist takes html and I used to use dreamweaver (no longer
available to me). I am basically looking for a low cost way for me to make
html flyers.

JoAnne: You had mentioned using other Microsoft office programs. Which
ones? If I was to design a flyer in word how would I turn it into code?

Thanks!

Mary Sauer

You can design a flyer in Publisher, when you are finished, file, convert to Web
Publication. It is the same in Word.

true but that would be if she knew html...Notepad cannot save a doc as HTML
but Word can.

| you should use notepad, not word, for the html. Word has extra

I used to use it for simple stuff for Delphi forums html and it worked
ok...nothing fancy though.

ok I'll re-phrase; Notepad *cannot* create HTML, but Word can (sorta). The
op doesn't know html so using Notepad from scratch would not be easy peasy.

It's all kinda moot anyway, as from what I can see on craig's list use of
html is limited.
