How do I format text or numbers to look like the copyright symbol.

I am wanting to "circle" some numbers in a document. Does anyone know how to
do this?

You can use "Insert", "Symbols", choose either the Wingdings or Zapfdingbat
fonts and find some there.

Another approach is to draw the circle around a number by using the Oval tool
off the Drawing tool bar. Remember to format the circle setting Fill to no
fill. From there you can copy|paste the circle wherever you need it, and
resize it easily.

Depending on how portable you need this document to be, you can use the
circled numbers in Wingdings or, if you have Arial Unicode MS installed and
will be printing the document rather than sending it to someone else, you
can check out the Enclosed Alphanumerics character subset in that font.
