I do training presenttions in PowerPoint. I have embedded links in the
presentation to some pdf documents. When I click on the hyperlink the pdf
document appears to try to open, but then closes down. I am therefore unable
to open the pdf document. how do I get around this?

Hi

There's usually no problem hyperlinking to pdf files, except possibly the
dread messages about possible viruses!. However if it stays a problem you
could try running the pdf file, opening the ppt on top of it and switching
programs either with alt+tab or ctrl + T (to show the taskbar and choose from
there)

Hi John,

Thanks for that. I'm not sure if your answer helps me, as I have more than
one pdf file which I link to. Would I have to open them all beforehand to
ensure seemless opening?

Well I guess you could have several pdf files open and use ctrl T to call
them from the task bar, however a link should work. How long is the path
length to the linked file? Try putting the pdfs in the same folder as the
presentation or maybe in a short path folder eg C:\pdfs
