How do i get publisher to stop auto numbering the book spines?

I am making binder spine labels and publisher is putting all the numbers as
the same on the first page and i don't know how to change it so it will go
1,2,3,4,5,6 someone please help

Where did you get the template? The binder template in Publisher 2007 doesn't
include page numbers. Furthermore there are three binders on page 2. In order
for Publisher to automatically insert page numbers correctly there can only be
one binder on each page.

You can setup a mail merge.

it is publisher 2003 and i did not mean page number it is in the template
itself and i got the template from their list of templates it is called Video
Spine Labels (Avery 5199b) but they are repeating the numbers in the template
over and over agian

When you design a label, all the labels will be the same. I am assuming you are
creating a text box on the spine label and typing a number. This is the reason I
suggested a mail merge. You can create a data base with consecutive numbers,
similar to what you see here, scroll down

Or you can arrange your page and manually add page numbers manually.

Arrange, Side margins 1.34
Top, bottom margins .5
Grid Guides 15 rows, one column, spacing zero
