how do i get word onto my computer?

hi, can anyone help me? my mom has just bought a new laptop and i thought we
had word and excel ect on it. But ive been sending emails with attachments
and getting replies saying that they cant be read becaude i actually have
word processer not the regular one. I dont understand the difference. I also
want to get powerpoint onto my computer too in order to read certain things
from college. I am no good with computers so any help would really be greatly
appreciated.

Or Office 2003 Students and Teachers Edition - available at most office
supplies stores. If you are a college student, ask someone at the bookstore.
Most colleges have reduced prices for Microsoft software.

And just a little life lesson, learn to ask questions when you are spending
large amounts of money. We do it with vehicles but for some reason when it
comes to computers, it seems like a lot of people assume a lot. Never assume
anything.
