How do I keep the same font from slide to slide

Hi there,
Everytime I begin a new slide I have to go back and change the font and
color, is there a way to keep the same font and color throughout, so I don't
have to change it everytime?

Select a text box that is formatted the way you want. Then go to Format > Font
and check the box that says something like "Default for all new objects".
