How do I make a MS Publisher document a read only document?

I have created a newsletter in Publisher and want to send it out via email,
however, I don't want it to be able to be changed. I don't have Acrobat
Writer, I wanted to know if there was some other feature in Publisher (like
in Word under Tools), that I may be overlooking. Thank you

Does everyone you are sending it to already have a copy of Publisher? If
not, they won't be able to view it, let alone modify it. A simpler solution
would be to distribute it in a form that can be both viewed and locked, such
as PDF.

Save it as a .pdf. You'll need software other than Publisher. If you don't
have Acrobat Std or Pro, there are several free or low-cost options. I've
been recommending PrimoPDF (www.primopdf.com). Free, easy to use - but it is
a 10MB download.

If someone has Acrobat, they could edit it but let's face it, why would they
go thru all of that hassle?

PrimoPDF is a dog of a product.
Don't be such a scunge and scrooge and buy the full version of Adobe
Acrobat.

Haven't you heard of 'security' in Acrobat documents <sigh>

My preference is also for Acrobat but not everyone has the extra money to
purchase it.

(How have you been? You aren't around much these days. Are you enjoying
summer?)

JoAnn,

Maybe they should buy Serif PP. It has its own built-in pdf printer and
it also includes security features. :)

Why spend more money on yet another DTP app when there are free PDF
converters? Sounds like a waste. In addition, it's more time spent on a
learning curve and you can't reuse or edit any of your existing Publisher
publications.

Brian,

You, of all people, should know that the learning curve between Pub and
PP is very small. One can also cut/paste without troubles. Plus, if you
had looked, you would have seen the smiley at the end of my reply. I
like to needle some people about PP, just for fun. I have Pub 2000, 2002
and 2003 and have actually used the program.

Summer HUH!!! You don't have to be a bloody scientist to know about global
weather change.
Was 42°C and for the backward countries that is 107.6°C on Tuesday, and on
Wednesday plummeted to 16°C - 60.8°F and bucketed with rain and rain and
more rain and of course flooding in some places. There has been 40cm - 16"
of snow on the mountains, which has never happened before at this time of
year, and the temperature is -5°C / 23°F.
If you look on this radar image at Albury, I am close to there, and you can
see how it is raining. Presently it is still bucketing down. All the dams
are full, all the tanks are overflowing, all the streams and rivers are full
to capacity.

BTW, I mentioned Serif PP10 in our most recent Publisher meeting with the
Pub Dev team )
