How do I make the office toolbar appear?

Tech support just fixed my Excel (2002 SP3) so it works again. However, the
Office Toolbar no longer appears when I restart Windows. How do I make the
Office Toolbar appear?

Click on Start | Programs | Microsoft Office Tools | Microsoft Office
Shortcut Bar.

Start OK, Programs OK, Microsoft Office Tools OK -- BUT no selection
"Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar" is present on the list of choices one sees
upon clicking "Microsoft Office Tools."

That means the tech support guy must have reinstalled Excel 2002/Office
XP, and did not install the optional Office Shortcut Bar feature. You
can add the feature by inserting your Excel/Office CD and clicking on
Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Microsoft Excel/Office |
Change | Add/Remove Features. You'll find the OSB in the Office Tools
category. Click on the little black downward-pointing triangle to the
left of the Office Shortcut Bar item and set it to Run All From Computer.

Thanks a heap for the advice garfield-n-odie; it would have worked, except
that the techs are the only ones with disks. The guy had to come back and
redo the install. When I showed him your advice, he said that definitely
would have worked -- if I had had the disks.

8) Again, thanks a heap. 8)
