How do I open a .Pub from a different version? I have 2000

I have a friend doing a newsletter for me, she is trying to send it to me in
..pub and I can not open that version. I tried your fix for opening it
(uncheck read only, but read only was already unchecked and I still can not
open it?

Your friend probably has Publisher 2002 or 2003. She will need to go to
File > Save As, and select Publisher 2000 from the list of file types.

Please note that this is not a good or recommended way for two users to
collaborate on a file.

Save is the only option I see when I try to open email attachment, I don't
have Save as

Your friend has to save as Publisher 2000 and send it to you so you can open it...

Having the same version of Publisher. Otherwise, formatting is lost in the
translation in both directions, so work has to be done on the file each time
it is opened to make it look as is expected.

For preview purposes if editing is not required at one end, conversion to
PDF is a good alternative. See www.primopdf.com for a free converter.
