How do I overlap words in Word?

I need to make an invitation and want to use initials of the bride and groom,
but I want the initials to overlap. Does anyone know how to go about that? It
doesn't have to be in Word.

Use a desktop publishing program like MS Publisher.. you will need to make
it up as a logo (picture format)..

Type out overlapping text in document, then create a textbox for
underlying text, and then set the text box "graphic" to be be behind the
"text".

If you do use this text-box trick, just make sure that the overlapping
text-box doesn't have any background color!
