How do I recover folders and messages in outlook?

I installed the lates windows vista updates, this morning, and then my
Outlook would not open. When I finally got it to open, none of my emails,
contacts, or subfolder (under inbox) are there. CAn someone please help me?
there are some very important messages there.

go to file, data file management and click Add. Click ok for the selected
pst format and Windows explorer will open to the default file location -
your old pst is there if you are using the default file locations.
