How do I remove the editing icons in word?

I am working in Word, and I have all the editing icons on my screen I can't
figure out how to remove them.

If "editing icons" means the dots and paragraph marks and all the
other nonprinting symbols, press the ¶ button on the toolbar, or press
the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+8, or open the Tools > Options > View dialog
and clear all the checkmarks in the Formatting Marks section.
