How do I save selection as file

I am in MS Word 2000. I have selected a region of text. I want to save that
selected region of text out as a separate file. Is there a single command to
do this, some sort of "saveSelectionAsFile" command?

Barring that, is there a quick and easy way to accomplish the same thing?
