How do I send MDI files to Office 2000 users?

I recently discovered the Microsoft Document Imaging software. I thought this
was the answer to make files when one doesn't have Acrobat Writer. However,
I'm finding that people with Office 2000 can't open files that I send. Is
there a way around this?

Hi Bill,

Unfortunately, MS 2003's MS Document Imaging (MDI) format
relies on the Office 2003 apps to read them :(

You can save as a TIFF file from Office Document Imaging
(bigger files but usually usable by others).

If you really want to send PDF files but don't want to spend the
money on Adobe Acrobat, there are many freeware and shareware
programs that will make PDF files. A few that have been
mentioned in the Word and Office newsgroups are CutePDF, PDF995,
and PrimoPDF. Ask Google for others. While the Acrobat clones
don't necessarily offer the same functionality as the real
Acrobat, they might work well enough for your needs.
