How do I set Outlook as my default mail client?

I am trying to email a document from the internet to a friend. When I made an
atempt to send the document by clicking the FILE tab on my toolbar and
scrolling down to SEND TO, I recieved a error window that says default mail
client in microsoft outlook. What does this mean? HHow can I set the default?

system defaults.
