How do I setup OOO to send reply each time a mail is received?

We want an auto reply to be sent each time a mail is received instead of
sending it only once for each email address. Can some advise on how to do
this?

I know that one of the ways is to set up rules, but the problem with that is
you could possibly have an endless chain of emails. So alternately, is there
a way that one can define a rule to send "One reply per Day" to each email
address in case multiple emails from the same email address are received?

Thanks in advance.

The Out of Office Assistant cannot do this.

Exactly why the OOA won't do it.

My understanding is that the OOA does that by default. However, since the
OOA is a function of Exchange and not Outlook, a more definitive answer
should be available in --

Actually, Rules are the way and no, there isn't a limit on once per day
unless you were to programmatically create a solution, which would either
require you to keep the client running (which would be a horrendous waste of
power, not to mention a dangerous proposition... I would never trust my
machine to stay running and logged in if I was away from my desk over
night... Windows Update taught me the error of that...) or would require you
to do programming against the server itself, which is another beast
altogether.

Are you using Out of Office for actualy Out of Office messages, or are you
trying to use it as a more robust auto-reply system? If the former, why do
you think you need to send out of office messages more than once? If the
latter, I would look for a third party auto-reply email management plugin
for Exchange. I don't know if one exists, but I wouldn't be surprised if it
did.

Not possible. Also note that this is an Exchange question and not an Outlook
question.

Thanks Brian..... This is in line with what I have read elsewhere as well.
Still, thanks for confirming my hunch....

Actually we have a small service center for which we want to configure auto
response so that customers are notified whenever an email is sent by them.

I guess we will have to look at other plugins that can enhance this feature
in Exchange server. i know that there are som available. Need to evaluate
them now.
