How do I turn off Read Only in MS Project?

Chandra

Every time that I save a document in ms project it tells me that it is read
only and that I have to change the name so I do. When I open the new
document and make changes, it tells me that it is read only again and in
order the save it I have to change the name.

Hello Chandra,

The read-only setting in an existing project file is set in the General
Options when you save a file. Choose File > Save As and click the Tools drop
down in the upper right corner. Choose General Options and make the changes
necessary.

However, I don't believe having all files set as Read-Only is a project
setting. Do you have read/write access to the network share you are saving
to?

Is your company using a document control program which requires users to
check-out documents before they can be modified?

I hope this helps.

Julie
