I would like to email an update to everyones project file working on the same
project. Is there a way to email the changed file so that it will
automatically update their file on their computer, or can i create a link
that will automatically update all persons file with the same version?

jophus,
I assume you are not working with Project Server. If you are, then you
should post to the server newsgroup (microsoft.public.project.server).
I'm not very familiar with the server version but I know it does have
some collaborative features.

When you say you want to e-mail an update I assume you mean send them
the whole updated project file as an attachment. If that is the case,
then all they have to do is to replace their "old" copy with the new
update. This assumes all users have the same full file (i.e. not just a
file with their part of the overall project).

Perhaps a better choice would be to set up a common server and post the
update there. Then everyone can download the most current version.

You also mention the idea of using links. Yes that is possible and
probably the best way to do that is with a master file (what you will
have) with inserted subprojects (what the other user have). Basically
what you would do is to build a consolidated master (Insert/Project)
with each of the user files as a subproject. The default is a
dynamically consolidated master so updates will flow both ways. As
necessary, links can be established between each user file as external
predecessors/successors. Note: this approach assumes that each user file
only contains their part of the overall project (i.e. their tasks only).

Hope this helps.
