how do I view Windows Explorer files in a slide show?

When XP first came out, you could view jpeg and gif files (frm the same
directory!) in a slide show. Is that still possible, or do I need to use
PowerPoint to accomplish this?

Windows XP does have a screen saver that allows you to pick a folder and
show the pictures in that folder. I has nothing to do with PowerPoint and
can only be used on your computer when the screen saver is active. Is this
what you are looking for? If so, right-click your desktop and select
"Properties". Click the "Screen saver" TAB and click the dropdown and find
the screensaver.
