How do you merge documents into a single file?

I have hundreds of poems each saved as word documents. I need to get these
into one file. Cut/copy/paste will take me forever. Any help? Thanks!

You could modify the code in the article "Find & ReplaceAll on a batch of
documents in the same folder"

to open each document in turn and insert the .Range of the document after
the .Range of another document
