I can't sort becuase my some cells have been merged by an intern.
The workbook rows and columns look perfect to me. How can I track down these rogue merged cells? thanks.

One way would be to select all the cells by clicking on the diamond at the
intersection of the row and column headings. The go to Format Cells and
select alignment. Then click the merge cells box until it is clear. Then
press OK.
