How to auto correct a word to be in italics?

Set the 'formatted text' option when creating the entry. Formatted
autocorrects can accommodate just about anything you can put into a
document.

Hi Graham,
This sounds like an interesting feature. However, my "Plain text" and
"Formatted text" buttons on the AutoCorrect dialog box are grayed out. How
do I make them active?
I'm using Word 2003.

They're active only if you have selected formatted text in the document
before opening the dialog.
