How to Backup

R

rvaccha

Hello,

I am using MS Outlook as my primary email application.

I would like to regularly make a back up of all my emails, addres
book, etc.

I want to be able to have a backup in case of an unexpected crash/r
format of my hard drive/operating system/or even MS Outlook program

I look forward to your suggestions.

Thank You
R

All of your Outlook data is stored in a file with a .PST extension. Look
here for all the information you need on backup and restoration of Outlook
data:

Depending on the version of Outlook, you can use this Microsoft supplied
add-in that will backup your files at your specified intervals:

Outlook 2003 Add-in: Personal Folders Backup

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, rvaccha asked:

You can also move your PST files to MyDocuments or another
folder that you regularly backup. You will have to edit
your Outlook account settings (easier in OL 2002/2003) to
tell OL where the PST file is located.

Not necessary to edit anything. Just close Outlook, move the .pst file and
when you reopen Outlook and it complains about the .pst file, just browse to
the new location.
