How to change link bar descriptions and links

Tony Girgenti

Hello,

Using FP2002, I did File/New/PAge or Web, selected Web site
templates/Customer Support Web.
On the left side, it has some kind of link bar(i'm assuming it's a link bar
because when i right click on it, i get a link bar properties option).

How do i change the text or link for the link bar items there ? When i
choose the Link Bar Properties, i can't see anything that would allow me to
do that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

Re: How to change link bar descriptions and linksHi Jens.

I attempted to use your suggestion and as you can see with the following information that i found. When i double click the link bar in page view, i don't get "Hyperlinks to add to page", i get "Link bar properties" with a general tab and a style tab.
Change which pages are displayed on a link bar

Change which pages are displayed on one of the following types of link bars:

A link bar based on the navigation structure

a.. Do one of the following:
Specify the hyperlinks you want to display

1.. In Page view, double-click the link bar.
2.. Under Hyperlinks to add to page, specify the hyperlinks you want to display.
Note If you specify hyperlinks that are not in the navigation tree, a link bar will not display on the page.

Exclude a page

1.. In Navigation view, right-click the page you want to exclude.
2.. Click Included in Navigation Bars on the shortcut menu so that it is no longer selected.
Note All pages under the excluded page (that is, all child-level pages) will also be excluded by default. If you want to change this setting, right-click a child-level page, and then click Included in Navigation Bars on the shortcut menu to select it again.

A custom link bar or a link bar with back and next links

1.. In Page view, double-click the link bar.
2.. Do one or more of the following:
a.. To add more links to the link bar, click Add link .
b.. To delete it from the link bar, select a link and click Remove link.
c.. To change the URL or display text of the link, click Modify link ..
d.. Click Move up or Move down to change the order of the links on the link bar.
For link bars with back and next links, moving the links up or down affects how the links are ordered with relation to one another on the link bar.

Note If you change a link bar in a shared border, the change will affect all pages using that shared border.

Read the help on how to build the navigation structure.

You must start with building the Navigation structure first.
So read up on that as I suggested.
Type "navigation view" in the help search and start from the top of the
results.
