How to control order that resources are listed per task?

Andy Rogers

When several resources are assigned to a task, I would like to have one
designated as a Lead and have them listed first. Projects seems to re-order
the resources as you assign them , but I can't recognize what criteria it
uses to sort them.

Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks

They seem to be listed in the order I assigned them. Don't think
there's a way to change it, so if you want the lead first, assign
him/her first.

Thanks Davegb. Seems in the Assign Resources box (alt+F10) it keeps them in
alpha order, but you're right, when they display at the task level they seem
to be in order of assignment. I was looking in two places and it seemed
inconsistent.

Have you tried vba?
The assignments are indexed on the task object and you can reassign their
order.
ActiveProject.Tasks(I).Assignments(J)
You will have to select the task, count the assignments and pull them into a
list so you can select the lead resource and then swap it with the first
assignment
