How to convert ppt files to doc file

V

V S Rawat

Office XP on win98SE.

I have a .ppt file having many slides.

How do I save it as MS Word .doc files, so that

1. text part of .ppt slides reaches the doc file and I can
edit that?

2. it should be a single .doc file.

TIA

Don't think you can, other than manualy cutting and pasting the ppt elements
into a word doc.

Don't think you can, other than manualy cutting and pasting the ppt elements
into a word doc.

I am doing translation of some files from english to some
other language which needs a separate font.

As you are aware that I need to change font in every text
box, unlike word .doc where I can change it in one go.

Further, every cut and paste in ppt again brings the default
font and I have to change it, whereas in word .doc
whatever font I copied from will get pasted.

So I was thinking that if I could get it to .doc or some
other single file, it will be easy.

Any method of saving it to some .txt or .html or any such
file so that its content can be accessed in one go?

Not running PowerPoint 2002 but I think it has the option to use File->Send
To->Microsoft Word.

By sendto-msw I could get the contents of all slides to a
single .doc file.

However, it appears that it is still some embedded thing not
following word's editing command. All slides are enclosed in
their boxes, and clicking on the box brings autoshape edit
window. The slide title and slide main body are in different
textboxes (as were created in powerpoint).

It is not possible to edit it conveniently. It is opening
sort of powerpoint window for editing.

I want just the text of all slides (header/ body) to go to
some text format (.doc/ .txt/ .rtf/ ...) in a single file.

Hi V.S.,

In Powerpoint when you select the File=>Send to Microsoft Word
choice choose the 'outline only' option to send only the
text from the slides that appears in the 'Outline' panel tab
in Powerpoint

Hi Bob,

in ppt, all my slides are in text boxes.

I selected the outline option that you mention, but it sent
only "slide no." and dash lines "_______".

It didn't send any single textbox content to word.

Is there any MS or thirdparty software for this?

Hi V.S.,

Gernerally in Powerpoint all typed text is
in textboxes. The Outline option in Powerpoint 2003
should transfer the text from each slide in outline
format, that is all of the text you see in View=>Normal
in the 'Outline' pane.

You may want to also drop by the Powerpoint newsgroup
(links below) if for some reason the Outline send isn't
working for you.

I have some 36 slides in ppt, but when I send "outline" to
word, only 2 pages are in .doc which are fully blank.

I have posted the query to powerpoint ng.

Thanks to all.
